[Rice-A-Roni is certainly not the only San Francisco treat! Prohibited from crossing the Golden Gate Bridge by bicycle, I hooked a ride with Carl to the city.] (Picture from August 13, 1995)

Picture #141

[Imagine staying in a place named after this grand, historic city! We were staying at The San Francisco Cottage, a one-of-a-kind refuge for the world’s elite. Normally, such spots are strictly reserved for the rich and famous. There was a single-day opening donated to us in honor of USAIDS 5,000 coming to San Francisco.] Picture from August 13, 1995)

Picture #142

[It lacked nothing one could imagine wanting during a respite, including a well-stocked, full-size refrigerator. A spiral staircase led to a loft bedroom that had a glass wall that overlooked secluded weaved gardens that can only be compared to King Ludwig’s in Southern Bavaria.] (Picture from August 13, 1995)

Picture #143

[French doors on opposite ends of the cottage opened to select gardens on one side and an enclosed patio on the other side that was so private that one could barbeque in the nude if inclined—not that I would recommend it. The guest book was a global who’s who of aristocracy, each page carefully dated with hand-scripted notes from people like Bill & Hillary Clinton, Bill Gates, Placido Domingo, Elton John and, yes, there was one line simply signed as Diana; is there any other?] (Picture from August 13, 1995)
