6/7 ~ Arriving in Albany

1995 USAIDS 5,000
Post #8:
On this Pride Sunday, I am reminded that Carl and I arrived in Albany, NY late on June 5, 1995. If you wonder why my posts don't match exact sequence of stops and distances; keep in mind that the bulk of the bike tour was "road", mile after mile, hill after hill. It was beautiful and memorable, but I don't have video. (Each picture has more details.)

Su Rhoda Grimes Loving hearing the story.
Jim Petretta Thanks, Su, and just think, only 12 more weeks to go, lol.

It was the afternoon of our 6th day on the road, and Carl Lebman (in support vehicle) was likely stopped to communicate with our lodging facilities for that evening. He managed to get B&W stills of me biking, all summer long. I believe this was somewhere on US Hwy 20. (Picture from June 5, 1995)

This same article and picture appeared in Albany's Times Union, Buffalo's ALT, and several other local and business newspapers and letters. It has no by-line; therefore it was likely originated by (then) Assemblymember Sam Hoyt's office. He was a great host to us in the Capitol City. (Picture and article from June 6, 1995)
